tpg hassles

I have TPG ADSL - it works fine, is way more reliable than Telstra's crap service and a lot cheaper. So recommended it to my parents - all went swimmingly until it mysteriously screwed up.

Their tech support seem to follow scripts - after I jump through all the hoops that demonstrate the gear at our end is working fine (me having extra ADSL gear I had brough over from a working connection seemed to confuse them, though it proved that it must be a line problem).

I asked for a temp dialin account so the parents can check their email - TPG said they wont give one untl they "prove" it is a line problem.. I guess having two seperate working ADSL modems doesn't mean anything.. and I presume as soon as they show it is a line problem it can be easily fixed.. bit of a convenient catch 22 for them I guess.
